Saturday Nights R.O.I BIG Article: “Be Drop Dead Gorgeous.” Can Facial Aesthetics Be Successfully Incorporated Into My Dental Practice
Yes, is the short answer. But if you think it will bring hordes of new patients for your book, you will be utterly disappointed.
Three years ago, I undertook an exciting project with the Botox Queen, Barbara Naisby. We developed the Botox Sales Explosion System For Private Dentists.
We sold a lot and then tried to partner with a company who run Botox courses. This was in response to my Members going on the course and then having no clue how to market the treatment.
As you’re aware, I’m very anal about R.O.I.
Anyway, the company declined saying they had a proven marketing system that worked. Hmmm, sure.
So here s a few pointers I’ve learnt over the past five years in helping MPOD Members market facial aesthetics products.
First, if it’s a hobby for you, wife, receptionist, hygienist and you don’t need the extra revenue… then be prepared to waste your annual insurance premium.
If on the other hand you have answered yes to the above and don’t like waste…then read on…
Target your audience- 40-55 year old trailing female boomers.
Invite them along to NOT an Opening Evening (sounds like school and your trying to sell em something) but to an Experience.
For example MPOD Best of the Best Marketing For Dentists 2010 Winners, Oliver’s from Sunderland, put on a Drop Dead Gorgeous Night for women only.
This from Oliver’s . “Then have a few complimentary partners involved.
We sent out 500 invites (we would have been pushed for space if everyone attended!!)
25 clients RSVP’d and they all attended. This was due to semi diligent follow up which worked.
7 Clients booked treatment on the evening. Not good you might say?
Think again……
Total income generated from the evening
Patient 1 559.00
Patient 2 4,350.50
Patient 3 54.00
Patient 4 227.50
Patient 5 335.40
Patient 6 227.50
Patient 7 245.00
Patient 8 50.00
£6,048.90 less £452.66(outgoings)
Profit- £5596.24
You give me £452.66 and I’ll give you back £596.24. Let me know the ROI as a percentage and I’ll give you a few CD’s.
N.B. I have left out staff time but the new income from referrals and ongoing new patient business, easily covers that expense.
R.O.I LESSONS LEARNED
Oliver’s targeted 500 female patients from the age of 21 to 65 years. If you have a look at the demographic (ages) of the patients attended, the best ROI would have been to target 35-60 year olds.
